Between Rock And A Hard Place: A Look At Women In Rock

While rock is considered a male dominated genre, I’ve always been more interested in the female side of it. At least half my iPod features female-driven bands and they’ve always stuck out to me, yet in the industry they still make meager helpings of the larger pie. So I decided to look into the stats and accolades, and find out where progress is being made and where things are staying the same. Talking about artists new and old who are still defining rock and alternative music. I also spoke with The Balconies’ Jacquie Neville to get personal insight into her experience in the industry.
